Its still a lot of fun and a great way to waste one's free time. Great graphics and a storyline that's been beaten to death by every developer out there. This is a replacement for my original game which was lost during one of my moves. I get off on splatter games and this is the latest version of the John Romero classic I cut my teeth on.
Just upgraded to a screaming Systemax desktop which can exploit this, and all other, softwear. A really good game. Loads easy and plays great.
And even when I get bored with it; there are dozens of Mods out there on the net.Another great thing about this game is it's story. I don't know how Halo beat DooM in best FPS game, but I don't care.
And as long as the FPS genre exist; so will DooM. DooM has been there since near the start of the FPS genre, and it is the game that made this genre awesome.
I have been playing this game for years. And the sequel's story (Resurrection of Evil) is also just as great.One last thing: this game has been out for several years now, yet it's graphics are still amazing.
And also even after all these years id software can still pat themselves on the back for this game. And after all this time; it's STILL enjoyable.
The story is deep and dark; just as the DooM series has been and forever will be.
I haven't been this scared while playing a game since the late nights playing "Resident Evil 2". With this sequel (if you can call it that), it brings back the memories of playing this for hours (and well into the night) and being scared half-to-death every time I get jumped from behind. Any DOOM fan must play this, and good luck with surviving the first few missions (*insert maniacal laughter*). I used to play "Doom" all the time when I was younger. There's just something about shooting demons at point-blank range that makes me all happy inside.
